FreeWater Joins #TeamWater to Help Bring Clean Water to 2 Million People

ree

In August, FreeWater took part in one of the most impactful global water initiatives to date — #TeamWater, the project launched by YouTubers MrBeast and Mark Rober to fund clean water access for communities in need. The campaign went on to raise more than $40 million to build water wells for over 2 million people around the world — and FreeWater was proud to play a part.

The collaboration came together unexpectedly. MrBeast personally reached out to FreeWater and invited the team to join the campaign at the last minute. In response, FreeWater created a special limited-edition design featuring MrBeast, Mark Rober, and the #TeamWater initiative. Each bottle included a QR code linking directly to the donation page, turning every bottle into a real-time call to action that supported the cause.

But the campaign didn’t stop there. FreeWater also partnered with a FreeWater-inspired startup in India, @theDrinkFree, to distribute the #TeamWater bottles across the country. This marked a major milestone: it was the first time FreeWater ads were distributed in multiple countries simultaneously — a powerful proof of concept for how this model can scale globally.

The results highlight a future that’s just beginning to take shape. Imagine campaigns like this one being deployed not by a single company, but by hundreds or thousands of free water startups across the world, all amplifying the same message through millions of free products. It’s a model that could change how social causes are funded and how advertising works — turning essential goods into platforms for global impact.

#TeamWater showed the power of collaboration — not just between creators and nonprofits, but between a growing community of mission-driven startups. And it’s only a glimpse of what’s possible when free and negatively priced products unite behind a shared purpose.
